Though I wanted to travel the world with my son
like Christopher Columbus, I didn't have any power to do that. I needed
people's help. My ambition to travel was so huge that I couldn't give up! I
made my first step by asking king John II of Portugal and King Ferdinand of
Spain about funding me. I begged them so much and told that I will promise to
discover new places and bring goods. However, they didn't give an ear to listen.
They both refused to help me. I didn't know what to do... I was so upset I
couldn't do anything. I didn't know whether I should tell Sebastiano about it.
I thought my dream was coming to an end. The only thing I could do was praying
to God.

~ ABOUT HOW I

Journal #3
~ ABOUT MY LOVING FAMILY ~
So... the miracle that happened in 1474. I married a gorgeous,
Venetian lady named Mattea. She was like a perfect type of
the virtuous woman whom every man would dream of winning her life. I had
fallen madly in love with her!!! I still can't believe she accepted my propose.
I've married her more than 10 years now,
but i love my wife even more than I did. I'm sure that it was the highest prize
that i received. After living in Venice for 15 years, I obtained
Venetian citizenship was naturalized in 1476. Because I got married, I
needed to make money so that my wife and I could live. So, I engaged in a
naval career, map making and also
undertook construction work.
Don't be amazed but, in my early 1480's, I became a father!!! The dream
that i was dreaming for had finally come true. I was blessed with three,
happy sons named Sancto, Ludovico and lastly but not least, Sebastiano. I only had good
things happened through my life. I guess it was because of God. My family
believed in Him and I loved him so much too. He blessed our whole family. I
can't do anything else than thanking Him.
Journal #2
After spending 11 years in Genoa, I moved to Venice with my parents, which was somehow the busiest place in Italy. My father as usual continued his job trading. Since I didn't go to school, I helped my father with the business. Though I had a tiny feeling about wanting to go to school, I didn't care about it because of my dad. He learnt some things from him that the school will never teach us too. I enjoyed learning about cartography, navigation, astronomy, mathematics and about seamanship. It was the best experience i have ever had!!I didn't regret about not going to school. The place, Venice was an excellent place to learn new things too. I also gained some knowledge on languages too since my father was a trading merchant and had many connections with the Europeans. My life was going really great. I was very satisfied with it. However, more miracles happened to me...
Journal #1
~ Journal about my life ~
I realized that i
should write a journal so that in later world, people can know who I am and
what i did for the world.
Let’s start off with my basic
information.
My “real” name is
Giovanni Cabot though I am commonly known as John Cabot throughout the
world. I was born in Genoa, Italy in 1450.
My surname ‘Cabot’ means “a coastal seaman” which was quite a common name given
to sailors or navigators. My original nationality is Genovese but later on-wards I
become a Venetian. My religion is Roman Catholic. However, though I didn't have
any siblings, I never felt lonely because my parents were always there with me.
My childhood days in Genoa were
memorable.
I forgot to mention this, but I am the
son of a spice merchant, Guilo Cabot who I don’t
think you may not know. I am glad that i have a father like him. He used to
shout at me when I didn't follow his instructions but he also gave me kindness
and so much love. One of my dreams were to become like my father, Guilo Cabot.
My mother, Patricia Morgan Cabot had a charming face and personality. She took care of me and
developed me to a better person. I am happy about both my parents.
